New Slant is a flexible, modular shelving system. The individual slanted boxes are held to each other with magnets. This allows one to playfully build an endless variety of subtly undulating configurations. Thanks to the sponsorship of the Department of Arts and Culture, Haldane Martin was invited by Design Indaba, to design this product as part of a sustainable job solution for disabled workers of Carecraft who manufacture the design. The New Slant is made from SA Pine timber, a local renewable resource, and is finished with an eco friendly timber oil.
